Media walls in Wymondham

At about 27 miles east north east of Brandon, Wymondham is close to as far out as we go. It is a longer trip than Attleborough and Long Stratton, and we do make it, for a project that justifies the travel rather than for an hour's work.

Wymondham falls under South Norfolk Council. Anything structural, or anything that changes the footprint, is decided and inspected by them rather than by us. We build to what has been approved and work to the inspection stages on the programme.

Wymondham has a period centre of timber framed and Georgian property, with substantial modern development beyond. That is what media wall work has to suit. It is the difference between a job that runs to plan and one that needs scribing to every surface. We price from the property, never from a template.

At roughly 27 miles it is outside our core area, so it depends on the size of the job. For a full media wall the travel is usually worth it for both of us. For a small one day job it honestly is not, and we would rather tell you that than quote a price that reflects the driving.

Plots are tight through the centre of Wymondham and more open on the newer edges. Inside work does not depend on the plot, although access, parking and somewhere to cut timber all come down to it.

The period centre and the abbey setting bring their own constraints here. For fitted work it is usually background, and it becomes relevant the moment a wall is moving or a floor is being lifted.

That is the council's decision rather than ours, and it turns on the property and the exact work. A listed house, or a job that moves a structural wall, is where it is most worth asking before anything is booked. The council to ask in Wymondham is South Norfolk Council, and we can point you at the right department once we have seen the job.

Yes. The nearest other towns on our list to Wymondham are Attleborough, Long Stratton, Diss, Watton and Thetford, and the villages in between are covered as well. Each of those has its own page for media wall work, linked further down this page.

Yes. It most often runs alongside second fix carpentry, fitted wardrobe work and renovation work, and because one team does the carpentry throughout there is no gap between trades. At about 27 miles from our base, putting the work into one programme also means one run of travel instead of several.

Call 07539 278705 or send the enquiry form with a line about the job. At roughly 27 miles away we will talk the job through by phone first, so neither of us makes a wasted trip. The quote costs nothing.
