Bought a kitchen? We fit it, in Royston

Royston is about 40 miles south west of Brandon, at the outer edge of where we travel. We do take work on in this part of Hertfordshire, and at this distance we would rather tell you straight away whether your job is worth the journey.

Royston falls under North Hertfordshire Council. Anything structural, or anything that changes the footprint, is decided and inspected by them rather than by us. We build to what has been approved and work to the inspection stages on the programme.

Royston has a Victorian and period centre with a great deal of modern commuter development around it. That is the starting point, not the detail. That is what decides how much of a job is straightforward and how much is patient work against what is actually there. We price from the property, never from a template.

At roughly 40 miles it is outside our core area, so it depends on the size of the job. For a full kitchen fit the travel is usually worth it for both of us. For a small one day job it honestly is not, and we would rather tell you that than quote a price that reflects the driving.

The commuter development plots in Royston are compact and modern. For work inside the house the plot matters less than it does for building work, but it still decides where the van, the deliveries and any skip can go.

At forty miles Royston is the furthest town we list, so the scale has to justify the travel. Inside the house that rarely stops anything, but it is worth knowing about when the work touches a wall, a floor or anything structural.

We do not make that call, the council does. For fitted work inside the house it is worth checking if the property is listed or if a wall is coming out, and we will tell you which of those applies once we have seen it. For a property in Royston the authority that decides is North Hertfordshire Council, and we will tell you plainly what we think before you contact them.

Yes. The nearest other towns on our list to Royston are Saffron Walden, Haverhill, Huntingdon, Newmarket and Ely, and the villages in between are covered as well. If your address sits between two of them, tell us the village and we will tell you straight away whether it works.

Yes. It most often runs alongside second fix carpentry, extension work and renovation work, and because one team does the carpentry throughout there is no gap between trades. At about 40 miles from our base, putting the work into one programme also means one run of travel instead of several.

Call 07539 278705 or send the enquiry form with a line about the job. At roughly 40 miles away we will talk the job through by phone first, so neither of us makes a wasted trip. The quote costs nothing.
